Riddhi Thakkar – A 24 year old female motorcyclist from Mumbai lost her life after a speeding trailer truck rammed into her motorcycle along National Highway 30 in Chhattisgarh’s Dhamtari district.

A 24-year-old woman rider from Kandivali West, Mumbai, identified as Riddhi Thakkar, died following a severe road accident on Wednesday morning along National Highway 30 near Markatola Ghat in the Dhamtari district of Chhattisgarh. Riddhi was part of an all-women motorcycling group comprising nearly 23 riders travelling from Raipur towards the Bastar region. According to local authorities, as the convoy crossed Dhamtari, Riddhi fell slightly behind the main group alongside two fellow riders when an oncoming heavy trailer truck collided head-on with her two-wheeler, throwing her off the bike onto the highway.

Fellow riders and local eyewitnesses immediately alerted emergency services via the Dial-112 helpline after discovering Riddhi lying critically injured on the road. She was initially taken to a primary healthcare center in Charama before being transferred to a hospital in Dhamtari due to rapidly deteriorating health parameters. Despite emergency interventions by medical personnel, doctors declared her dead upon arrival. Meanwhile, the driver of the speeding trailer fled the accident site along with the vehicle immediately following the collision, prompting police to register a case of unnatural death.

Dhamtari police personnel launched an active search operation to locate the hit-and-run driver, deploying investigative teams to analyze surveillance footage from CCTV cameras installed along adjacent toll plazas and highway stretches. Officials completed formal inquest proceedings and sent the body for a post-mortem examination at the Dhamtari District Hospital. Local civic representatives and senior police officers contacted Riddhi’s family members in Mumbai, who traveled to Chhattisgarh to complete the necessary handover formalities for the last rites.
