Abhijeet Dipke Amit Shah Resignation Tensions between the Opposition and the central government intensified after Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke publicly demanded the resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Speaking to reporters at his residence in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Dipke backed Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi’s earlier statement, alleging that the police crackdown and heavy force used against students during the July 20 “Sansad Chalo” march against examination paper leaks could only have been executed under direct orders from the Union Home Ministry.

Addressing the press after returning from a month-long agitation at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, Dipke accused law enforcement of orchestrating chaos to discredit student protesters. The CJP founder alleged that Delhi Police brought trucks loaded with stones and parked a damaged vehicle near the Jantar Mantar site on the morning of the march to frame agitating students for stone-pelting. He urged the police force to act in accordance with the Constitution rather than acting under political pressure from ruling party leaders.

Dipke’s demand closely followed a high-decibel press conference and parliamentary address by Rahul Gandhi, who argued that Union Home Minister Amit Shah must resign over the police crackdown on young demonstrators. Gandhi asserted that if the Home Minister directly sanctioned the force, he remains culpable for the incident, and if he was unaware of police actions in the national capital, it reflects administrative failure—warranting his stepping down in either case.

Dismissing allegations that CJP received external funding, Dipke remarked that if a movement operates outside government knowledge, it highlights administrative limitations. Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders rejected the allegations, stating that the government had already demonstrated responsiveness by introducing the anti-paper leak bill in Parliament and accepting the resignation of former Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Ruling party spokespersons advised activist groups to refrain from politicizing student issues along party lines.
