However, Jaiswal pointedly highlighted that China remains in illegal occupation of Indian territory in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh and continues to build infrastructure projects across Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK)—actions to which New Delhi firmly and officially objects.

The Chinese account quoted Jaishankar as saying India’s position on “such issues as Taiwan and Xizang remains unchanged.” This marked the first time a Chinese statement involving Jaishankar bracketed Tibet directly alongside Taiwan, prompting New Delhi to clarify that the official Indian statement focused on trade imbalances, market entry, and LAC border stability.
