Mazgaoncha Morya Agaman Sohala  – Tension in Mumbai’s Byculla After Eggs Allegedly Thrown at ‘Mazgaoncha Morya’ Ganpati Procession – Communal tension flared up in the Byculla-Mazgaon area of South Mumbai after eggs were allegedly thrown from a residential building onto the procession of the famous ‘Mazgaoncha Morya’ Ganesh idol. The incident occurred during the early hours of Monday during the Agaman Sohala (arrival procession) of the deity ahead of the upcoming Ganeshotsav festival.

According to police and mandal office-bearers, as the grand arrival procession reached the Tadwadi area near Byculla, raw eggs landed near the procession truck and devotees. Outraged by the provocative act, hundreds of devotees and local mandal members gathered on the spot, chanting slogans and demanding the immediate arrest of the perpetrators responsible for hurting religious sentiments.

Mazgaoncha Morya Agaman Sohala – Heavy Police Deployment and Law Enforcement Response

Upon receiving information, senior officials from the Byculla Police Station alongside extra police personnel rushed to the scene to prevent any further escalation. Police quickly dispersed the gathering crowd and brought the situation under control. Authorities have registered an official case against unidentified individuals under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Investigators are currently reviewing CCTV footage from nearby buildings and gathering technical surveillance to identify the exact window and apartment from which the objects were thrown. Senior police officers have appealed to citizens and festival organizers to maintain peace and refrain from spreading rumors as police security remains beefed up across Byculla and Mazgaon.
