Both husband and wife were daily-wage labourers residing in the Agripada area. Following the attack, Ehsan allegedly used the same weapon to injure himself in an apparent suicide attempt. Discovered in a critical condition, he was rushed immediately to Nair Hospital for emergency medical treatment. However, despite medical efforts, doctors were unable to save him, and he passed away during treatment.
