He added that wearing the national cap was his ultimate dream from his early days traveling to practice from Dombivli, living by a single rule to always place team and country ahead of self.

Having made his debut in 2011, Rahane represented India in 85 Tests, 90 ODIs, and 20 T20Is, scoring 8,414 international runs with 15 centuries and 51 half-centuries.
