Railway authorities announced that multiple local train services will be canceled, short-terminated, or delayed by up to 20 minutes across major suburban corridors during the block hours.
Mumbai Local Train Mega Block Sept 6 – Central Railway Operates Block Between CSMT and Vidyavihar
On Central Railway’s Main Line, an engineering block will be implemented on the UP and DOWN slow corridors between CSMT and Vidyavihar from 10:55 AM to 3:55 PM. During this window, slow-line services will be diverted to the UP and DOWN fast lines with limited halts at key stations including Byculla, Parel, Dadar, Matunga, Sion, and Kurla. The rerouting will cause selective train cancellations and running delays across the Main Line network.
Mumbai Local Train Mega Block Sept 6 – Harbour Line Suspends CSMT Services; Special Trains to Run From Kurla
Harbour Line train services will remain suspended between CSMT and Chunabhatti/Bandra from 11:40 AM to 4:40 PM on UP and DOWN tracks. Consequently, direct local services between CSMT and Vashi, Belapur, Panvel, as well as CSMT and Goregaon will not operate during the block period. To mitigate commuter inconvenience, special local trains will operate between Panvel and Kurla at 20-minute intervals, while Trans-Harbour and Uran line operations will remain unaffected according to scheduled timetables.

Western Railway will execute a five-hour jumbo block on the UP and DOWN fast lines between Churchgate and Mumbai Central from 10:35 AM to 3:35 PM. Fast local trains will run on the slow line during this period, resulting in minor delays and short-terminations at Dadar and Bandra stations. Railway officials advised daily commuters to check revised train schedules and plan their weekend travel outside peak block hours.
