Amravati, Maharashtra: Farmers in Rajura village of Chandur Railway tehsil in Amravati district have alleged that poor-quality soybean seeds supplied by multiple companies have caused widespread crop failure, triggering anger and demands for immediate action. According to local farmers, soybean seeds marketed by Mahalok, Booster Company’s “Hututu” variety, Mahadev Invez, and other brands failed to germinate even after 10 to 11 days of sowing. Following repeated complaints, representatives of Mahalok visited the affected farms to inspect the fields. During the inspection, a large number of farmers gathered at the site and confronted the company officials, demanding answers and immediate compensation.
The inspection turned tense as several farmers expressed their frustration over the alleged seed failure, saying they had invested heavily in cultivation but received no results from the sowing.
Farmers Demand Compensation and Immediate Action
Farmer and Rajura Gram Panchayat member Bhushan Kale strongly criticized the alleged negligence by the seed companies.
He demanded that senior company officials visit the village immediately and address the farmers’ grievances.
Kale warned that if justice is not provided and farmers are not compensated for their losses, the agitation could intensify in the coming days.

The incident has intensified concerns over seed quality, farmer protection, and accountability of seed companies.
Farmers have urged the Maharashtra Agriculture Department to conduct a thorough investigation into the alleged seed failure and ensure fair compensation if the allegations are found to be true.
